Monique, native of Washington, DC is a graduate of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts. She developed a love for speaking at a young age. She began radio in 2006 at her alma mater, Florida A&M University's, WANM 90.5 FM. At WANM, she specialized in the gospel format and two years later branched off to a specialty show (Suite 905) that included Jazz, Soft Rock and R&B.
During the summer of 2010, Monique interned at Radio One-DC's WPRS, WOL and WYCB. This internship exposed her to commercial radio and gave her first hand knowledge of the business. Under the tutelage of Program Director, Ron Thompson, Monique was able to return to Tallahassee and intern at Cumulus Media where she worked for a decade as the morning traffic announcer, co-hosted the Doc D & Miss Monique show, hosted the afternoon drive "The Rush with Miss Monique" and eventually became the Interim Program Director of WWLD-F2 Heaven 98.3 FM (formerly WHBT 1410 AM).
Under her leadership, WWLD-F2 was a nominee for the 2021 Stellar Music Award for Small Market Station of the Year and the winner of the 2021 Tampa Bay Gospel Music Awards - Radio Station of the Year. Monique was the recipient of the 2020 Gulf Coast Gospel Music Award for Radio Personality of the Year and a nominee for the 2021 Tampa Bay Gospel Music Award for Radio Personality of the Year.
Currently, Monique is the afternoon drive host on WZBN Praise 105.5 FM - South Georgia's Gospel Station. She also voices commercials and promos around the globe and is the voice of the Gospel Music Awards of Trinidad & Tobago. She has served as a preliminary judge for BET's Sunday Best. In addition to radio, Monique is also an accomplished classical pianist. She teaches beginning and intermediate piano and is an assistant organist at St. Michael & All Angels Episcopal Church.
